MIROPE project arises as an attempt to empower people at risk of social exclusion in their everyday realities reflecting upon concepts questioned during the 20th Century of the European History like freedom, domination and empowerment. The project aims also to raise participant’s awareness about current European values such as democracy, active participation, European identity and European citizenship. To get these general aims main activities of MIROPE consisted of creating six training modules based on German, Polish and Spanish recent history that have been used as starting points for the six artistic workshops. In MIROPE workshops target groups in each participating country actively weave different aspects of 20th Century relevant themes in their current realities trough visual arts. National exhibition in each participating country has been organized in occasion of relevant dates of European History as well as a Final International Exhibition in Germany, to present the pieces of art to general public. With the same aim a virtual gallery and a publication have been created in order to show to the general public the artistic works produced during MIROPE workshops.
