who we are A brief history method of operation structure how to get involved
Legally registered organisation in The Hague on 14th February 2003, with Nº 5351944

From the first moment some principles were commonly accepted by all members of HUSCIE European Network:

  • The autonomy of the different members will be respected.
  • Membership is open to any organisation involved in the different areas that HUSCIE is working in. Membership will be by invitation from the existing membership. Any number of members can come from one member state, but the aim is to have representation in every member state in the different sectors. It could be envisaged that in the long term we could have national HUSCIE networks or different networks say dealing with social affairs at the national level and in turn reporting to a European network.
  • All members will try to promote the membership of the network both internally and externally by, for instance, adding a logo or sentence to their fax front pages. Promotion of each others activities and organisations will be aimed for.
  • Voting procedures are set as follows. One member, one vote and an absolute majority, i.e. at least 66% of the votes, must be in favour or against; The number of votes per country should be limited to two.
  • The chairperson of meetings will come from the hosting organisation of any meeting.
